Cutera Enlighten Laser Facial: What to Expect
The enlighten III laser facial is a non-invasive treatment with minimal to no discomfort or downtime.
The laser specialist will begin by cleaning the areas to be treated and placing special eyewear over the client’s eyes. During the treatment, the laser gently passes over your skin, and you may feel a slight warming or prickling sensation. The enlighten III laser emits powerful bursts of light energy that penetrate to the deeper layers of the skin without causing any harm to the surface. This energy bursts apart any hardened scar tissue and discoloration in the skin and the body’s immune system whisks it away. Spots may initially appear darker and will slough off in the week following the procedure.
Clients will leave the clinic with mild redness in the treated area. They may experience sensations similar to a sunburn, and that should subside within one to two hours following the procedure.
The body will continue to produce new, healthy skin and collagen layers for up to 8 weeks following each enlighten III laser Pico Genesis treatment. The results are clearer, brighter, and more youthful-looking skin, which typically lasts six or more months.

How Many Enlighten Laser Facial Treatments Will I Need?
Remarkably enough, most patients are able to achieve desired results in as few as 1-2 sessions with the new enlighten III Pico laser. However, clients may need more treatments based on the degree of damage. Sessions can be performed at 8 weeks apart.
How Long Do Enlighten Laser Facial Treatments Take?

Our clients are generally able to see real, visible results as early as 2-3 weeks after their first enlighten III laser facial.
How Long Do Enlighten Laser Facial Results Last?
The reduction or removal of skin concerns like wrinkles, lines, dark spots, and freckles should last for about six months. After that, maintenance treatment is recommended depending on the client’s age, skin condition, and the intensity of the treatments. We encourage all of our laser clients to use SPF 45+ on a regular basis to maintain beautiful results longer.
Will I Experience Side Effects After a Pico Enlighten Laser Facial?
Most patients experience very mild, if any, side effects after a laser facial treatment. Your skin may be mildly pink and tender to the touch – similar to a mild sunburn. The sensation subsides within an hour or two and the redness usually subsides within 2-3 days. In the week following a laser facial, the client may experience itchy skin while the skin layers are healing. We recommend taking antihistamines to help alleviate this.
Does an enlighten laser facial hurt?
The short answer is, no. However, there may be some very mild discomfort during the procedure, such as a warm sensation or slight stinging. Our laser specialists will assess your comfort level throughout the procedure and make any necessary changes so you are comfortable while still achieving desired results.
